Pitched a no-hitter for the Charles Comiskey-managed Browns in his first start as a rookie in 1891. He wasn't aware
of his feat until he was told after the game as his teammates feared he'd be jinxed. He pitched a total of 4 no-hitters
in his career. 'Breit' was considered a quality pitcher and desired by many clubs. He was purchased by the Reds
in 1897 for $10,000, an astronomical sum for that era. Ted has the distinction of being part of the famous 'Pretzel
Factory' battery along his catcher Peltz when both played for the 'old' St. Louis Browns and the Cincinnati Reds
of the 1890's. His career ended after a sub-par 1907 season with New Orleans as he had been kicked by a horse before
the season began and never fully recovered.
