The players are indexed in alphabetical order. The year 1909 is used as an anchor point as the portraits displayed with the biographies are representative of the trading cards of that year.
Most played with a major league team at some point in their careers. Some portraits, though, will indicate a player's association with a minor league team. The biography will concentrate on each player's major league career and other interesting aspects (e.g., education, post-playing career,anectdotal information, etc.)
