Neal Ball became the first player in baseball history to complete an unassisted triple play.
On July 19, 1909, with Red Sox runners on first and second, Ball snagged a line drive by Andy McConnell, stepped
on second and tagged the runner from first to complete this phenomenal play. In this historic game, Ball set another
major league record for shortstops by recording 9 putouts. Ball's glove, used in this game, is on exhibit at the
Baseball Hall of Fame.
